Yingbo Huang, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow (2024-) |
Background: was born in the northeast of China. Starting from my undergraduate study, I have pursued an extensive education in pharmaceutical sciences, earning both undergraduate and master's degrees in pharmaceutics, majoring in Drug Targeting and Delivery, followed by a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy. My PhD research was about exploring sex differences in human genetics and cancer biology, employing multi-omic data to unravel complex biological narratives. My work primarily focuses on analyzing sex differences at the genomic and transcriptomic levels in both malignant and healthy tissues, and exploring the relevance of these differences to human health and pharmacogenomics.
Research Interests/Projects: My current research interests lie at the intersection of human genetics and cancer biology, with a focus on the genetic underpinnings of anti-cancer drug responses. By developing sophisticated preclinical model systems, I aim to dissect the complex interactions between genetics and pharmacology in the context of cancer treatment. This work not only fuels my passion for science but also aligns with my long-term career goal of founding my own research group. Through this initiative, I am interested in contributing to cancer research and facilitating the preclinical development of novel therapeutic agents. Beyond Lab: Beyond the confines of the lab, my interests span musicals, movies, and the fashion industry. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and visiting state and national parks. Currently, I am embracing the challenge of learning French through Duolingo, with plans to learn Cantonese in the future. Contact: [email protected] |
