Postdoctoral Fellow (2024-) Ph.D, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong |
Background: As a native Cantonese speaker, I embarked on an academic journey during my master's degree studies in Nanjing. During my Ph.D. studies in Hong Kong, I dedicated myself to unraveling the pathoetiology of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, the most common pediatric bone disease with elusive causes. By employing a multidisciplinary approach that encompassed human genetics, biochemistry, and animal modeling, I uncovered a "neuropathic" origin linked to dysfunction of SLC6A9, shedding light on this complex condition.
Research Interests/Projects: My research interests are focused on the study of complex human diseases, particularly genetic diseases and cancer. I am thrilled to be joining the Sethi Lab as a postdoctoral fellow to investigate the molecular basis of colorectal cancer, with my primary focus being on mouse modeling for this disease. Fun Facts and Interests: In my spare time, I am a football fanatic and enjoy watching Premier League games on weekend nights. Additionally, I have a profound love for travel and enjoy exploring nearby cities alongside my family and friends. Contact: [email protected] |
