Background: I am a midwestern transplant to the northeast. I grew up in Missouri where I received my B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Missouri and M.D. from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. I spent an extra year between second and third year of medical school studying pathology as a post-sophomore fellow at the University of Missouri. After graduation from medical school, I completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where I spent an additional year as a chief medical resident. I was an oncology fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Mass General Brigham. In 2023, I joined the faculty as a gastrointestinal medical oncologist at Dana-Farber.
Research Interests: I am interested in an academic career in clinical investigation, particularly experimental therapeutics and clinical trial development. My primary mentor was James Cleary and I will be co-mentored by Nilay. In the Sethi Lab, I focused on identifying patients with gastrointestinal cancers who are susceptible to replication stress and to harness that susceptibility to improve cancer outcomes. I am especially excited to partner with this lab to translate basic science discoveries into the clinic, understand clinically-relevant biomarkers, and establish correlative studies for future clinical trials.
