Pranshu Sahgal, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Fellow (2020 - )
B.Tech., VIT University, Vellore, India
M.Sc., University of Turku, Finland
Ph.D., University of Turku, Finland
Background: I was born and raised in India and received my bachelor's degree in Biotechnology Engineering from VIT University. I then moved to Finland and did MS and Ph.D. from the University of Turku in Biomedical Imaging and tried to understand the role of intracellular trafficking of membrane receptors in cancer-related processes.

Research Interests/Projects:  My broad research interest is to delve deeper into the molecular mechanism of cancer development and cancer progression and translate those findings into therapies. During my postdoctoral work, I have been trying to focus on the components of DNA Damage Response (DDR) and replication stress as the therapeutic vulnerabilities in the cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. You can learn more about my research here.

Beyond Lab:
I have training in perfumery and watchmaking from France and Switzerland. I love experimenting with new dishes in the kitchen. I like to read self-development books, meditate and spend time in nature. My favorite quote is 'Dream it. Wish it. Do it'.
