Background: I was born in Penang, Malaysia, but grew up in Guam before moving to the mainland US to attend Princeton University. I majored in molecular biology and obtained a minor in violin performance. For my senior thesis in college, I studied the role of Prdm1 on the development of the heart in Ciona intestinalis, otherwise known as sea squirts. I joined the Sethi lab to learn more about cancer research, and how results from benchwork can be translated directly into patient care.
Research Interests/Projects: In this lab, my main focus is to understand the regulatory mechanisms between the deubiquitinase USP9X, E3 ligase FBXW7, and Sox9. Once the molecular mechanism is understood in cell lines, we hope to target this pathway in mice models to inhibit CRC development. Fun Facts and Interests: I'm an avid violin player and classical music lover and am excited to join the music scene here in Boston. I also love staying active, such as going to the gym and playing volleyball. As a food addict, I'm excited to explore the different food options Boston has to offer. Contact: [email protected] |
